Hey Folks.

Long LONG time no write.
After reading this Thread:

I Decided that it was a fanatastic Idea to pick up an F8. I went and Test rode an F8 and a F10 and I couldn't tell a difference from the the two, So I just waited...waited...waited.

So I Scooped up a new Pinarello F8 . So thanks Guys/Gals.
So this bike comes in at 15lbs 4ozs w/out pedals.
And I'd like to get it down below 15lbs w/ Pedals without killing my wallet.

Im not in a rush to get the wheels replaced, not at the moment.
My pedals weigh in at 142 grams (Speedplay Ti's). So that will add a little weight.

The list ideas I have to get it below:
Enve Stem
Enve Handlebar
KCNC Ti Skewers
Selle Italia Flite Carbino (145 grams)

I just want to get it below 15lbs. I'm waiting for the damn Fedex guy now. So I'll weight in the saddle/Stem/Bars/Skewers....... to get a better Idea of what and where to shed weight.

Have them on both of my F8's. Best to use either Jagwire elites or Nokon's though

What's your idea of killing your wallet? How brand oriented are you?
Some ideas:
- Kalloy Uno stem with ti bolts would be a ton cheaper than Enve and probably lighter.
- Cut the fork and remove the extra spacers. (when you're sure)
- Can you cut the seatpost a little as well?
- Ti bolts on the seatpost?
- lighter innertubes or latex?

I'd like to stay under $600. The biggest bulk of the cash would be going to the Enve Stem/Handlebar.

-Yeap. I have the Uno Stem on my FP2 (which is what the F8 is replacing) and I loved it. I kinda wanted to go a little bling on this one, because I really cut corner on the FP2 over the years. On a side note I learned about the Uno because of this forum.
-100% right. Its nerve racking to cut the fork. I'm most likely going to leave a 15mm underneath the stem though.
-I don't know about cutting the seatpost on the F8's.
-Good Idea on the inner tubes. I've been researching that also here. Its pretty inexpensive of an improvement.

mm..I havent though about the brakes as of yet. I was going to try and nail it with little things before going on those. I've actually never experienced the Dura-Ace brakes, from what I understand they are the best in Braking, but looking at the 150grams weight savings looks great.

Other possibilities:
- cables and housing
- bar tape
something like the KCNC tuning kit gives an idea of what small bits you can replace with lighter parts as well.

Was running DA9000 calipers......... the EE's are a bit more finicky with set up [cable length] but once sorted are excellent. As to braking and modulation I would say as close to DA's as you will find. Have done a number of descents in the Australian "alps" and never had an issue with lack of braking force or modulation........
As above there are a heap of options to shed a few g's

-Extralite Ultrastar 3 instead of normal compression plug
-FIzik R1 stem looks way more bling than Kalloy Uno (it's slimmer, give illusion of longer stem) and doesn't break the bank.

* MCFK or Extralite stem.
* Wheels, but that blows your budget.
* Crankset like Easton EC90SL
* Handlebar (alot of options)
* Saddle is about comfort, so this is more tricky.

Doesn't Jure now make the seat post clamp for the Pina, that would save some weight, not sure on cost though.

If you really want a true weight decrease, it will cost money.
I don't know if it's worth it for you?
I agree, a stem, bar etc is not something you'll notice.
You want to drop 1/4 of weight or something.
Going ww is like inviting a disease.
Wheels is what should be nr.1 prio.
