I should have done a bit more looking but didn't even think about it. I have a Stages power meter on an Ultegra crank and just got a Workswell 081 frame with direct mount brakes. I mounted up the Ultegra brakes and clicky clicky.

So now onto finding a workaround solution.

1. Anyone have an simple solutions? I thought about just taking a dremel or angle grinder to the side of the pull on the brake caliper, but not sure that would well.

2. Any compatible calibers?

3. Get a different crank. Although this is one is basically brand new so that stinks.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would see how much room you need. Wheels makes spacers that are super thin and 1 or 2 of those should work, I’ve used that on a few issues like this without issue and super easy fix. If you need more room than that you’ll have to get some new brakes. EE makes DM brake sets that should work. A ton more clearance.

Hope that helps

So that would just move the crank arm out a mm or two. Hoping to avoid a super wide set up but might be worth a try. I might have some spacers sitting around too.

Looks like Bontrager Speed Stop brake might work as well?

yes, but the pad are invading chainstay's area. It designed to be used on Fork with recessed slot on fork or on wide seat stay.
To use on chainstay, you need some spacer to move it further away from chainstay and longer bolts.

Chainstay mounted brakes were sofa king stupid back in the mid '80s on MTBs and haven't gotten any more intelligent since then.

I ended up taking a little material off the Ultegra brake via an angle grinder and dremmel. Worked perfect. Have about 1mm space now.
