Hi,

I am usually using the Cinelli or the Deda cork bar tape but I am now looking for a good bar tape for the rainy weather.

Which bar tape for the rainy weather would you recommend?

Supacaz Kush tape is super-sticky and stays that way in the rain.

Fizik makes a super-sticky rubber-surfaced tape that is very similar, though a bit thicker.

If you are wearing gloves, you can pick gloves to give you the grittiness with regular Fizik tape, which tends to last better than almost anything.

What is your issue? Grip? Cleanliness? Longevity? Something else?

pretty much anything that isn't the standard foam-ish material will do, I used the fizik ones in white for a while and they were great--never really had to clean them either and they stayed pretty much completely white the whole year

Definitely a good grip even with the rain is key to me.

Used Deda Traforato bar tape throughout winter...no problems, light and cheap

Recently changed to Lizard skins DSP...I prefer this tape, feels more comfy & I like the weird tacky feel

Lizard Skins has definitely got a unique tacky feel to it and it is relatively light if that's an issue. The Spesh HD would be described as rubbery, very grippy in all conditions, if you want a bit of padding it has a generous thickness to it too which makes it really comfy (also it looks matt not shiny).

Then any of the ones I mentioned, plus Gecko (which I forgot to mention but is also excellent for this).

I put Fabric Hex bar tape on my wet weather bike recently and I really like it. Lizard Skins was my first choice, but for me it wears out very quickly just in front of the hoods. Supacaz is quite nice but I can see that is also starting to wear quick in certain areas. I have Fizik Performance tape on my commuter - if all else fails this is my go to as it's super durable. I have Arundel Rubber Gecko Grip on the CX and that would be my pick if your priority is grip.

I don't want to share as they have stopped making it, but I'm a great guy : ) Cinelli Jelly it's just about perfect year round for me...IMO and lasts for years...

C

PS it's not perfect because it's heavy never weighted it but it's got to weigh about 3 times as much as "normal" bar tape

The bar tape that came on my Giant has over 30,000 Miles in all weather. Pretty sure it’s Giants brand. Lols almost new.
