Hi,

I have Zipp SL 70 Aero handle bar and I don't want to change it. for the next year there are few TT races and I want to use the same bike and same setup. But the problem is my handle bar is not accepting any clip-on aero bars because of tight tolerances (only 1 cm each side) . So are there any options for "stem" based clip-on aero bars? or do I need to make a custom one?

thanks

If you can still find the Profile Hammer stem and Lightning Stryke aero bar it's exactly what you're looking for. Unfortunately they've been out of production for many years. I love mine. 2 bolts and 1 minute to mount or unmount the aero bar and it weighs less than a pound.

Hello,
Not exactly what you looking for but a good solution to change from road to TT:

Deda Clip-one.

The main problem you'll have with many tribars is mounting the armrests somehow if they don't mount on the extensions.

Personally i'd just use some pipe lagging over the top of your barwhere your forearm will rest.

There is a 100mm stem on eBay at the moment at least. I'm fairly certain you will be able to find the aero bar come next summer at least...

Jtek made a stem faceplate aerobar too, couldn't find any in a quick ebay search though.

hi OP.. i have the same Zipp SL 70 aero bars. there's not much space available for aero clip on. you could use something like this.

https://goo.gl/U4i9QZ
Origin8 Mini Clip-On Tri Bars, 25.4 - 31.8

granted the bar is pretty short.. but perhaps can be replaced by other bars from other brands or use PVC pipe to reduce weight. i've thought about it but never went through with it. don't do enough tri to do get this for my TMR02
good luck

I saw it before. +1 have you ever try it on SL 70 Aero? can you fit the clamps?

I know it doesn't fasten on the stem, but the bar clamp is very narrow compared to most bolt on tribars, which is why i suggested it.

Also you dont say what stem you are using. Can you change it for something with a smaller face plate?

The Selcof set from Planet-X is a nicer option imo. A bit heavy though.
