The new NGeco model is almost half the price of the NG model. Is there a catch or at $490. it's a very interesting crank based, double sided powermeter choice ?....

Dcrainmaker has a detailed review of the NG Eco that details the differences. It's essentially a TypeS if I remember correctly.

Depends on which model you are looking at. The Campagnolo NG eco model I am interested in is only $170 US less than the full NG model. The main difference is the NG uses a rechargeable battery, whereas the NG eco uses a replaceable coin cell battery. The NG eco coin cell battery lasts up to 400 hours and the regular NG rechargeable battery lasts up to 150 hours. It is my understanding that you can upgrade to the features you want for $50 US per upgrade with the eco.

It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.
