Hi everyone
Time for a new bike to replace my Wilier Zero 9, I have narrowed it down to these two:
Supersix hi mod has sram etap and carbon rim brake wheelset.
Merckx 525 has Hydraulic disc Ultegra groupset and high end edco carbon wheelset. It is the Endurance geometry model.

Any thoughts on which is the better bike?

Thanks

Sounds like an easy choice. Do you want the bike for "show" or for "go"? It's easy after you make that choice.

Preferably go! prefer the racy geometry of the cannondale but carbon rim brakes worry me for the wet/hilly Scottish rides up here.

I'd go disc if riding in the wet all the time. That EM looks pretty aggro in black, heard good things about the wheels too.

Can't fault a Cannondale though.

Depends whether you want race or endurance geometry really.

Considered the Supersix Disc? https://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Canno ... -2017/E4B5

Would prefer race geometry but the merckx look quite aggressive don't you think?

Looks like it has a long headtube so a bit more upright than the Dale.

Ps Supersix disc is nice but poor wheelset.

Which bike did you mean was more show than go?

Maybe talk shop into deal on swapping out the wheels?
Supersix is a better bike, been through endless iterations of engineering to get where it is now.
It does have a more traditional look, but they are lively to ride.

My 30s ride on a EM525 isnt enough to pass judgement on, other than the first impression was that it was very harsh... but it looks as though the endurance model might be more comfy. With the SS Evo you cant go wrong. One of the best frames on the market.
