Has anyone tried the new Dura Ace 9100 11-30 cassette with the prior Di2 9070 rear mechanical. Would really like to run 53/39 up front and a 11-30 cassette at the rear but do not want to spend the money to upgrade from 9070 to 9150. Any advice would be appreciated.

i guess it depends on your frame/hanger geo. previously i have ran sram xg1190 11-30 with 6870 short cage rd on my tcr - no problem at all after a little b-screw adjustment.

I have two bicycles. Colnago C59 size 48 sloping and a Tarmac S-Works size 52cm. Both have Shimano Dura Ace Di2 9070. I am currently running Dura Ace 9000 11-28 cassettes on each bike. Would like to swap to 11-30.

Have a cervelo S5 and a Pinarello F8. Both with 9070. Both can fit 11-30 cassette. I know some people have fitted an 11-32 on but I think that is pushing the limits. Look at RoadLink too if you are having problems.

It looks like the chain was on the small ring. So what happens if he accidently shift to the big big combination

I have ran 11-34 with 9070 using a Wolftooth RoadLink. This is only a temporary solution when I need a 11-34 for special rides. But I made the chain longer so I don't accidently damage my derailleur or frame if I shift to the big big combination. But since the chain was too long, I cannot use the three smallest cogs when the chain is on the small ring.

I tried this exact combination on my Blue Triad and it does not work. B limit screw all the way out and it still wasn't enough room. :(

I'm bumping this old topic otherwise I have to start a new one.

Anyone tried the combination with a S-Works Tarmac SL5? I have Dura-Ace Di2 9070, 50-34 en 11-30. However, I can't get to the 30T without the derailleur touching the cassette. What am I doing wrong? B-tension is maxed out.

Officially RD 9070 only support 28T max, but usually a longer bolt for B tension can solve your problem.

You mean all the way in right?

On my friend's trek domane his 9070 derailleur clears a 32t cassette. He had run both 11-30 duraace and 11-32 ultegra.

Trek has longer hangers.

The best shifting is with a 26-28t cassette. The further away you stray the worse it gets.

I had to quickly build a bike on the eve of a 3 month trip in the high mountains once, had DA Di2 9070 but a SRAM XG1190 11-30 cassette. B-tension all the way in was still not enough with the length of the bike's hanger so I screwed the B-tension bolt from the other side so the bolt head added to it's effective length, shifting was maybe a little less crisp in the smallest cogs as the top pulley starts to be a little far from the cassette there but it worked flawlessly.

I'm running this combo on an Allez Sprint rim brake with no issues. Barely needed any b-screw adjustment.

I'm running an 11-30 with DA 9000 rear derailleur and 52-36 up front on tarmac sl6 with no issues so I would assume it should work fine on the 9070.
