No, and I don't think you're not going to, because the axle that would work on the bike is only 130mm, rather than 135 or 142.

Could be somewhat useful for an urban singlespeed bike, especially with a security keyed socket for the axles and super wide flange spacing for a strong rear wheel.
I think we'll eventually see wider rear spacing (be it 142 for rim brake or 148 Boost for disc), but that would be for purposes of more gears in the back.

The Wilier Cento10NDR has both direct mount rim and flat mount disc brakes on each frame and swappable dropouts for QR and Thru-axles. Probably some steel or Ti builders would make one for you as well.
But as stated how will you get rim brake hubs to fit thru axle spacing? Or would you lace a rim brake rim to a disk hub?

You think? I think componentry makers would be reluctant to increase Q-factor on road cranks and without doing that most chainsets don't have the space to shift the chainrings 3mm outboard without the crankarm ripping the front mech off.

I think this is actually a pretty good idea. I have built 1 x disc bikes for friends and the only technology that interests me in adopting is the through axle. I don't buy into either 1x or disc, but do like the solidity of a revised axle design.

Other than weird options like the Wilier, I don't see this happening. Manufacturers are all-in on disc-brakes, there's no reason to offer a half-step that very few people would actually buy into.

I dunno; my heels are almost touching my 415mm chain stays with 142x12 -- I don't think I could move them out at all without stretching the backend out or widening the q-factor (using mtb cranks).bm0p700f wrote:148x12 makes alot of sense for road bikes. Same with boost for the front.
