How long u'r saddle last?
Moderator: robbosmans
Im using Selle Italia SLR Carbonio Flow Saddle, which i like a lot, but seem that wont last too much..
I have around 10000 km on it, and 500 km ago, the leather on the nose start ungluing and having a cut. I fixed it today ussing Vittoria One Mastik glue , but seem that wont last more then 1000-2000 km max .
So how long ur saddles last before u need to change them?

im also using Selle Italia SLR Superflow white model
it has been about 5000km and it also begin to unglue but can be use more
i guess its leather is smoother and softer than others
so it seems easier to wear out

the carbon saddles with the covering have more wear and tear because the cover does start to come undone. the carbon is fine though. I mostly have bare carbon saddles and have some over 10 yrs. ax lightness have been the best for me.
I'm using Prologo saddles and the fake leather doesn't seem to wear out.
I did have a Fizik Alliante that sagged in the middle and got uncomfortable.

Huh I wouldn't have thought this would be much of an issue with most good quality saddles, but I looks like I am wrong. I have been using Fizik Arione saddles with no issues with respect to longevity (outside of crashing of course).
My Arione R1 has >30,000km on it, still like new/

All these saddles that are great and really old!
Mainly because you've worn yourself in sympathy with it.
Try a new one, and see how knackered your old one really is.

Funny, when I switched from my 10+ year old Ax Endurance saddle to a new one, it didn't feel any different.

Agreed. Prologo saddles rock!
I've had quite a few Prologos, and you are correct in the fact the cover doesn't wear out, but eventually the shell starts to sag and will get "spongy." I'm no heavyweight, either (63-65kg).
