Hi All
Title pretty much says it all. I am building a replica of one of Stuart O'Grady's earliest bikes - a 1999 Credit Agricole Look KG281 team bike. The kg281 frames were available with threaded (rare) or unthreaded straight forks - Credit Agricole used quill stems that year with a threaded fork.
My kg281 frame has a threadless steerer so need a new fork. Colour is not an issue as the whole bike will be getting a re-paint in team colours.
Original Look LDS Pro 2 fork would be utopia but a near substitute would work as well. I'm thinking forks by Time, including those they made for Colnago would be very close match.
I'm not sure what the relevant Colnago fork name would be - maybe a Colnago fan could let me know?
Any other likely suggestions gratefully received - and of course if you have something please get in touch!

What size frame? I have an early Time carbon fork with threaded steerer but it would only work on a very small frame. I bought it for my wife's bike (now sold) so it could use a new home. I can upload a few pics if you think it may work.

Thanks Joejack - the frame is still in transit to me but it is a size 54 Look KG281 - they were fairly short on the head tube - I will track down a geometry chart and check

They have a fork for any application including 1in threaded. Not the best looking things but come in whatever configuration you can dream of.

Head tube is 127mm - need to combine with a DA 7410 headset which I think has a stack height of 38mm-ish - so looking for a steerer around 165mm-ish minimum I would say.

Note the recall notice on the site. Anybody ever heard of similar notice for aluminum or steel forks?

Nevermind that my Time fork has curved blades and you are looking for a straight blade fork (as opposed to a non-tapered, straight steerer as I initially wrongly assumed), the steerer on it is only long enough for maybe a 52cm frame, but ideally a 50cm frame (which was the original intention).

Pretty old news but: http://viscount-lambert-bikes.blogspot. ... death.html
More recently:

https://www.aventon.com/pages/recall-notice
There's also failures like this one from Felt where the aluminum steerer tube on the carbon fork is what fails: http://www.cxmagazine.com/felt-recalls- ... cross-fork
Something like this Time fork then perhaps?

Thanks Mayhem - been looking at that one - just a fraction short I think - he describes it as 168mm but the photos show more like 155mm on the measuring tape.
This is a picture of a similar Look kg281 frameset to my project - I'm building mine up exactly as Credit Agricole rode theirs to feature in an exhibit dedicated to Stuart O'Grady - they were still using quill stems in 1999/2000. From what I can tell the forks made by Look, Time and Colnago of that time look pretty much the same and when built up I would say would be indistinguishable to all but a few.

Why not have your existing fork threaded?

The steerer of the threadless fork is carbon, not steel, and not designed for a threaded headset.
