Back to the topic then:
Giant is among the manufacturers I respect a lot (see previous post). They weave their carbon, as only Time does, and the quality of their frames are really top. They obviously keep high manufacturing standards on each frame they make in house.
I would not compare the quality of a Giant Advanced SL to the quality of any Canyon or Cervelo. These are just not as good. We have no evidence on how these frames are made. We have no pictures or videos of their production line. We don't know what quality of carbon is used. Probably it is not the top quality (Torayca, Mitscubishi) because if it were we would know it.
Anyone that can provide more info based on facts is welcomed.

So generally speaking, we should expect good frames OEMed by Giant (like Scott Foil Premium), correct?

Taiwan factories

Giant - Giant frames and others
Ten Tech Composites - Cervélo, Ridley, Specialized, Colnago
G&M Carbon Components - BMC
Quest - not sure which frames
Topkey - Cannondale
Carbotec - Pinarello

Most have been making frames for 20 odd years, also they employ very young adults who make the frames and a lot of frames are chucked out at the end of the process when testing is carried out 1/30 approx I read. Ten Tech have the best reputation, where they only work 45 hour weeks and more quality testing is carried out and also Ten Tech have a great deal more unidirectional carbon in the high stress areas such as BB. Most of the above are sweat shop factories, nothing can beat Time who make their carbon weave with extra care with high in house technology.

I have a Colnago & a Time and appreciate both, but my Time NXRS still gives me a great feeling of knowing the frame is made with precision and care.

I don't want to go into this discussion. But some facts:

Quest make Trek and Canyon. Giant also make Colnago. At least they did.
Giant also weave their own carbon sheets from raw carbon fiber.

Colnago cheaper frames maybe, Giant is the mass produced factory that make cheaper frames for the Giant population and many many other brands. I am guessing they have a dedicated area for their top end frames cause that place would definetly be an Asian sweatshop!

Pre-preg is temperature sensitive. They most definitely would not be made in an Asian "sweatshop." Read a book someday.

I guess that Giant has another department for its top frames like Trek makes its top frames in house.
OEM is another story, not as high standards, carbon quality or attention to detail.

...And in an even more detailed four part tour:

I would say that it's pretty close to state of the art mass production.

If you guys haven't already, you should check out the Luescher Teknik channel on YouTube. It is the channel of Raoul Luescher and has a lot of great videos. A wealth of information. He has several great videos where he cuts carbon fiber frames in half to show what they look like and discusses the build quality. Very top notch stuff.

^ yes, just yesterday saw a emonda sl opened up, looked very clean for mid-range frame. i would imagine it is made at quest components, same as canyon.

Emonda SL is made by Giant, when I was working at a shop every time we got one the box had a Giant Bicycles sticker on it.
