Dogma F10 Frame

I just don't believe that comfort comes from tires. I had a frame that was so stiff that I was dodging every single imperfection on the road. It was just fatiguing and annoying. The bike was beautiful on brand new roads that were as smooth as glass.
I tried 25mm GP4000s (measuring 28mm). I normally use 23s. I also tried 80psi. I normally use 100psi. Sure, it made a small difference but it didn't turn my bike into a magic carpet ride.

THIS!! Even with the same tyres and same pressure, my both Canyons are / were way smoother than my Scott Addict. All on carbon clinchers, same saddle and seatpost. Tyres do make a difference for sure, but the way a frame behaves on rough roads still remains. No need to ride 100k to tell the difference. 50m into the very first ride on the Addict was enough to tell me the bike would always remain harsher than the Canyons.

Wheels/tires in isolation I think are 80% tires, 20% wheels which contribute to the overall comfort of the wheelset. However, seatpost can have a big impact on comfort as well as the frame. My Evo would beat me up compared to my Litespeed and Crumpton. Same wheels, same tire pressure, same saddle. Evo was 27.2 post while the two others are 31.6. So, even with a smaller diameter post, it was still less comfortable than the other two.
Conversely, I put a 3T Pro seatpost (290g heavy alloy post) on my Litespeed and the ride became harsh compared to the Mcfk post.

Not much of a difference in performance besides some minor detail touches. Even my buddy who owns a Pinarello Dealer advised me not to upgrade but I really wanted a smaller frame in Wiggins.

Now that you have rode F8, F10 and BMC TM SLR01, which would you say is the best among these 3?
My F10 has been complete now for a few weeks. Everything has been dialed in, and the best way I can describe the results is that it is complete perfection. The fit, aesthetics, sound, especially at speed, agility, ride characteristics, I could go on and on.
I was a bit in the dark about frame size, EE Brakes and Di2 vs EPS v3. Frame size, right on the money. Chose EPS and couldn't be more thrilled! The EE Brakes perform flawlessly, and I'm 83kg.
This new speed machine has exceeded my wildest expectations!

I remember when RCA was held in high esteem or even "the grail".
These days it seems the bragging is mostly about Pinarello.
What's next i wonder....
I also contradict that tires makes wrong suddenly right.
I had gen 1 of Foil. No tires or wheels made that bike free from feeling harsh!

The f8 and the f10 seems to be much more faster due to its aero design compared to the SLR01. I like both SLR01 and F10/F8 climbing abilities but that boils down to how well the riders training and conditioning. Unfortunately, my SLR01 is for sale in order for me to start my next project. BUY IT!

Your SLR01 is up for sale but not your F10, I guess that speaks to something. Seems like F10 is a notch better and the keeperPinaF8 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 14, 2018 4:03 amThe f8 and the f10 seems to be much more faster due to its aero design compared to the SLR01. I plan to get a disc setup for my next bike and the SLR01 Disc is pretty slick. I like the clean look of BMC ICS, as oppose to the expose cables of F10 Disc.
Regarding the bars, should I treat the bike as an Aero or semi-aero WW(3T Aeronova or Schmolke TLO)?

Ditto.... the thing is try to stick among the experienced riders. But I must say, not too long ago I was doing a solo recovery ride and the Saturday group ride passed by me.... I witnessed and was part of a crash and I wasn't even on the ride!Geoff wrote:No, ride away. You can't live in fear of crashing, that is just going to happen. I'm not saying be stupid about it, or anything (like, it probably isn't the best idea to wear a newish Panerai on an early-season ride with thick gravel all over, or something), but you need to live your life.
If I ever have a bike I would be afraid to damage, I would never buy it in the first place. Like they say in (anti) social media: YOLO!
As for the choice of bars/stem... This is one reason I like the Pinarello look. You can put just about anything on that bike and it would look great. I would consider what's best for your taste and confort first and foremost. I went with the MOST 1K Tiger Stem and the Jaguar XC Aero 3K bars. The other bars from Most are too flat at the top for my liking and I do not like a the one piece bars. If you have a problem with the stem, you have to replace the whole thing!
