Hi

I am looking to build up a single speed bike for commuting and winter / foul weather training. As such I would like to be able to run mudguards. Preferably I am looking at steel, and would like a carbon fork (to keep weight down) and capacity to run 28mm tyres.

Having had a good look around there does not seem to be many options that cater for mudguards as a frame and fork purchase – I know I can use clip-on guards but I want proper fitted mudguards.

Options which may be suitable are Kona Paddy Wagon and Surley Steamroller (both of which come with steel forks). Not keen on fully a built up option as I have parts available to use on this build.

So suggestions or alternative would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

An All City Nature Boy would be in that category, too, though it also has a steel fork. Nice fame, though.

Condor Tempo - steel frame, carbon fork, space and mounts for mudguards plus 28mm tyres. £750 for the frameset.
