Super six evo hi mod clearance issues
Moderator: robbosmans
I currently have a 2015 super six evo hi mod and was looking for some new wheels, something along the line of a set of zipp 202 or 303 but am concerned about the rim width which is 25.4mm. I currently run with dura ace c24 wheels running 23mm tyres, I tried to swap to 25mm tyres but there's not enough frame clearance. I was wondering if anyone runs a 25mm rim with 23mm tyres and knows if it will clear this frame.

AL33's, which are as wide and wider internally, with tires that measure an actual 28 (vittoria corsa 25's) no issue.

303 firecrest with 23mm tyres on a 2016 SuperSix without any problem.
2016 SuperSix HiMod has loads more clearance than 2015.

Yes, you want info from people who run a SuperSix Evo or SuperSix Evo HiMod with 27,2mm seat post diameter. The old SuperSix (the non-Evo) had more clearance and allows for 28mm tires. The new SuperSix Evo with 25,4mm seat post diameter also has clearance for 28mm tires.
I myself have a 2015 SuperSix Evo (non HiMod). There is not much clearance at all. I am running 23mm Vittoria Corsa G+ which measure exactly 25mm wide on 15C wheels. There are about 2mm of clearance between tire and chainstay on each side.
A friend of mine runs DT Swiss R460 rims with 23mm external width at the brake tracks and this is about as wide as I would go. A rim that is wider near the spoke nipples might be ok, but I haven't tried it (and I won't). I'm a big guy, so I will go for a new frameset if I find one for a good price.

2012 Evo Himod
25c Schwalbe One Tubeless on DA C24 (measured tire width 26mm)
25c Veloflex Arenberg on DA C50 (24mm width rim, tire measures 25mm)
Both fit.
I have a 2013 super six evo I've tried fitting HED Belgium Plus rims (25mm rim outer) but they do not fit at all. Currently, I am having some good luck running Hed Belgium C2s (23mm rim outer) with 23mm Vittoria open corsa cx that measure 25mm.

One of my best friends rides a 2016 Super Six Evo Hi Mod and he was trying to run GP4000S II in 700x28 on Mavic Ksyriums with an internal width of 17C. They fit, but just barely, and IMO the rear clearance was too tight. Actually the worst clearance point was on the rear DA9000 brake caliper, anything picked up on the tire was going to hit the brake first. Lateral clearance at the stays was also very tight, too tight for my own comfort. After a few hundred km he has since gone back to 700x25.

2015 Supersix Evo, non-himod, I'm running Pacenti SL23s with 25mm Conti GP4KSIIs. They measure out at exactly 28mm inflated.
They fit, but it's real close.
