Veloflex with Vredestein latex inners. Works a charm.

Conti is like wood to me, same for their cross tyres.

Never really got the Conti thing, people still buy them when there are much better and cheaper options out there

What are you after? Purely lightweight race? All rounder with a bit of puncture resistance? Supple ride? Tubeless?

Fast tyre that wears well and is puncture resistant. Don't need a race tyre.
I was recommended the Conti GP4000SII's after my Vittoria Rubino Pro speeds wore out in 3000km and I haven't had much of a problem.
No, tubeless is not necessary
