Paint Crack or Carbon Crack

Have you done the tap test on the spot? It's really simple and effective.

Pulled the frame apart to get ready to ship it to Luescher Teknik and thought I would have a look at the cable guide from inside the frame where the crack is. One side has substantially more material to bond the cable guide in place the side with less is the side with the crack.

Would love to hear how this turned out. Tend to side with those who said its a paint crack, but the forensics on these issues can be really tricky and this is one of the tricker types to figure out.

it looks like a carbon crack for me, or it would be a very weird shape for a paint crack... try some sandpaper

try pushing on the tube ( with some gloves on) if there is any play its broken for sure

I dislodged the cracked part of the coating, and the result did not seem to have cracked in the carbonImage
