Usually (generic, not Canyon specific comment) barcodes should be the same as the text written by it. The real test is if it's even scanable and matches.

The shift cable exit is as below, any clue?
Image

and the drop-out of fork is also adjustable

comparing with others, we can found a little difference of the curve under headset.

I scanned the bar code, and the code matched what it showed below the QR. I sent the code to Canyon and waiting for their reply.

I just got a used canyon aeroad and found something weird. I just feedback to the seller and he said the differences are due to the years. Need canyon owner's help to see if the frame is fake or not:

1. The headset is made by metal, and doesn't look the same as other's.
Image

2. The font of printing is not the same as what I found on internet.
Image

3. No holes inside the forks, and I can see the holes on other's.

Did I get a fake frame?

Hi Easonwu,
I work for Canyon and looking at the top tube font spacings and the UCI label, this frame is not genuine. I would strongly advise that you get your money back as quickly as possible.

Best

i am amazed that people spend money on high end components (super record group, dura ace direct mount brakes, nokon cables) and then cheap out on buying the frameset.

I imagine (and hope) ebay will refund

Obvious by now that it's fake.

If it was an eBay purchase (I didn't see yet how this was purchased), they have a time limit (60 days? not sure), to register a claim.

Also wonder where you purchased it. Not been aware off there are even Canyon knockoffs around.

In case it was an purchase through ebay or paypal, buyer protection might help you out on that.

Sh't, Canyon is another brand which is copied by "fakers" like spec,KASK,etc.

E207-15 is the proper part number for the cable exit . https://www.canyon.com/downloads/suppor ... BOM_ts.pdf

The dropout is not adjustable, just replaceable. circa 15-16 dropout. The screw is different. https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=ht ... mrc&uact=8

You need to be careful about look at pics of pre-production, production, and different model years. They may have engineered it and built the pre-prod in house, then the factory wanted some changes.
The best clue would come from looking at the interior of the BB to see their BB. Should look like this: http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... ylffg6.jpg A different factory would have this look different.

The next best clue is the rear wheel fitment. This XL bike has a bad fitment too. http://road.cc/sites/default/files/IMG_3784.JPG I bet wheel fitment isn't perfect on all frame sizes. The use the same size chanstay and BB on all bikes. They have a few different seat tubes and they modify the seat stay length.

The stem details are wrong. The front dropout screws are wrong. The font spacing is wrong.

The UIC sticker might be ok. The rear glossy sticker by the logo wraps around too much

The rear barcode should be put on with a sticker cover - http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt22 ... nddgt6.jpg

What are you trying to convey "copied by fakers". You mean China? China has been in fake/knockoff business before any of us were even born.
