New frame help - Canyon Aeroad BB?
Moderator: robbosmans
I'm building a Canyon Aeroad. I'm a life long Campy user, but I've decided to try SRAM Etap. I know nothing about SRAM. Here is my first question - I want to use a SRAM Red crank. But, what bottom bracket adapter do I use? The frame has a press fit BB86 bottom bracket. Help?

Get yourself aluminium threaded together one, for instance wheels mfg bb86 for Sram 24/22 (gxp Sram Red crank version which will fit in your frame) with angular contact bearings.

Why the SRAM Red crank? it's a good price for what it is, but taking advantage of the bb386 could be pretty nice. I have both, but really prefer my THM M3....

What BB386? To my knowledge all of Canyon's framesets have a BB86 aka vanilla PressFit bottom bracket shell.
yeah, Canyon use BB86 which is 41mm diameter 86.5mm wide.
That design for plastic or metal cup 41->37mm bb shell and 37->24mm bearing in mind. So it best suite for Shimano Hollowtech II/Sram GXP 24mm axle.
BB386 is 30mm spindle diameter, 86.5mm wide
Apperantly there are bearings that pressed in bb86 bottom bracket directly (like Rotor 4130, 41mm outer 30mm inner: FSA, Enduro and WheelsMFG also have similar product) so the 30mm spindle of bb386 will fit. But i don't think that is ideal.
