I am going to ride the route a few days after the race and the signs will be down. I need every turn or I will get lost.

Thanks

Have you tried searching Strava or ridewithgps.com?

If you get the file onto ridewithgps (or it already is) the website will make up a turn/cue sheet for you.

make sure the file is a GPX one, and not TCX.

that should allow you to get turn by turn on your Garmin. you need to activate the turn by turn on the Garmin once its loaded in. i think its normally off if you haven't used it.

Here is the route I would like to ride. Can someone help me get it on my Garmin 500 or get it into turn by turn written words?

Have you tried the "export" function on the RH side tabs?
Choose TCX file format.

A pop up should come up asking if you want to save/ download or whatever.
Save it to your PC.

Connect 500 to PC.
Using Windows explorer, copy said TCX file to the "new files" folder on your garmin.

Disconnect 500.
Go outside, and turn 500 on. Wait 5 minutes or so while it processes the file into a course.
Have a brew.

Go back to the training options on your 500, look under courses and it "should" be there.

The signage placed on lampposts etc will surely be gone but what will always remain are the painted directions on the road surface itself! Look out for yellow 'PR' with a directional arrow painted on the road.
