Bingo! You hit it on the head. The C60 is a tank and not worth throwing money on weight reduction. It's like putting carbon wheels on an SUV.

75 kg at the moment

Riding 200-250 km per week, climb 3000-4000 meters per week.

But anyway :) i just have target weight which i think is easily achiavable for not much money and also every upgrade should give me some better product not just weight

I dont agree with u on this. What weight did u consider when u compare the frames weight? The posted weight from the manufacturer or real one? Colnago C60 50S weigh is 1210 gm with Bottom bracket included, headset and seatpost clamp. If u compare for example with Pinarello Dogma F8 frame actual weight, ull realize that they are max 100 gm difference, beside what Pinarello claim for Frame weight of Dogma F8

Reason is claimed weight u see from Pinarello is weight without paint, without any hardware. This is similar on many other brands.
Of course there is lighter frameset like Bianchi Specialissima, and if u go for regular paint and measure it will headset, bottom bracket.. What do u think? What weight difference u'll get in real? 200-250 gm? That's the weight u wont notice in riding conditions, but the C60 will offer much better ride quality in almost every condition.

And since i dont have idea to go for some ridiciolus weight, still it's worth what im doing :) (my target is 6800 gm, so need to loose 200 gm).

AJS914 wrote:Spending $500-700 to save 200 grams is a waste of money IMO. Plus, you aren't really going to feel it on pedals/bar/stem/seatpost. If you were dropping 200 grams off of a wheelset then you might feel it.

+1 (except for the carbon handlebars compared to aluminum handlebars)

Yes.. Another thing i want to do is to improve my ride, not just to shave the weight, and also to get better aestethic if possible.

And @TonyM, since u have C60 OFCG and SuperLegerra parts on it. Can u please post few pics to see how they look like on C60?

But lets go step by step. In the moment we solve one step, we'll go another one :)

1. Handlebar

Why do i want to replace the handlebar?

- Need better shape then my Zipp Service Course SL-80 Handlebar for Campy levers.

I prefer smooth transition from tops to hoods, which im not getting how i like on this handlebar.

Drops are good shape, and i use them a lot. But since i also ride a lot in hoods, i dont like the bump i have from tops to hoods.

- Im using 110mm stem, and this handlebar is 80mm reach/125mm drop.

With this setup i feel that i need a bit longer reach, and a bit deeper drop.

Im trying in this moment with 120mm stem, and seem a bit longer than i want.

So Maybe if i switch to 75 mm reach handlebar, and 120mm stem will get me what i need (i need 5 mm difference from the reach i have now)

Another option is 85mm reach handlebar, and to stay with 110mm stem

- Canceling road buzz

Last weekend i rode 115 km on not so good tarmac road. My hands was numb after two hours, so if i switch to carbon handlebar, i hope to make things more comfortable than it is

- Also want to improve aestethic if possible

So when u realize that i dont want to throw the money just on weight reduction, but also on better ergonomy, its not look that it's waste of money :)

I will really be thankfull if u help me step by step in this process..

As soon as we solve handlebar, we are moving to other parts :)

About handlebars i picked:

1. Easton EC90SLX3 - 75mm reach/130mm drop

Price at the moment: 150 Eur (tax included)

Thinking between 44 cm or 42cm

If i go for 42cm version, ill get 42 cm in drops (on my Zipp now i have 44 cm), and 41 cm in hoods (on Zipp now i have 42cm

If i go for 44 cm version, i'll get 44 cm in drops (Zipp have 44 cm drops), and 43 cm in hoods (Zipp have 42 cm )

2. Deda SuperLegerra Handlebar - 75mm reach, 130mm drop

Price at the moment:
Black version - 190 EUR
PolishedBlackOnBlack - 207 EUR
RS Version - 234 EUR

All prices tax included.

If i go 44 cm since it's measured outside-outside, i'll get 42cm both in drops and hoods. Not sure if i need to go narrower then this, since i like to climb a lot

If i go this handlebar, i'll switch to Deda Zero 100 Stem, DarkGray (here not trying to save weight, just to match the handlebar)

3. Alternative is Ritchey Logic EvoCurve, i like that seem that is stiffer (based on reviews), but dont like aesthetic for Colnago. Still function will win over aesthetic if there is big difference with others. And dont like the backward angle of tops.

Price at the moment: 250 eur

Since we are going step by step now :). What handlebar u'll choose from those three and why? Which of this will be best looking on Colnago C60 in MFRD with Bora One 35 Dark Label?

If u go Deda Superleggera, will u go Polished Black on Black, New RS version or Just Black (can someone please tell me what colour are decals on Black color. Are they Dark Gray or White?)

I recommend going for the superleggara stem and bars, I have the same (46cm) setup on my 56S MHCF C60. Currently weighs in at 7.05Kg with all accessories and mounts attached, and nothing particularly exotic. You see how the bars/stem look here: viewtopic.php?t=139901

here you go. On the pics still the polar strap (now K-Edge mount for my Garmin), the speed and cadence sensor (now gone) and the regular Campa crankset (now Power2Max).

Currently at 6.5kg (with K-Edge, Garmin, Power2Max powermeter, 2 Elite bottlecages, Lightweight Meilenstein Schwarz Edition clincher wheelset (1100 g), Veloflex tires (2x205 g), Time Xpresso 15 Ceramic pedals (2x67g) and Selle Italia Flite Carbonio Flow saddle (170g))

Thanks a lot TonyM and moonoi.U both have very nice looking bikes. I like them a lot :)

I wonder, How u feel Deda SuperLeggera Handlebar and Stem in term of stifness? Is the handlebar stiff enough?

I can see that stack on Deda Superleggera stem is a bit lower then regular, so wonder if that mean a lot of flex. And one of the reason i want to go with Deda Zero 100 stem instead. So same question for the stem ...

And also i read about internal routing that sometimes on Superleggera can make problem to adjust handlebar without compromise the performance of cables. Did u have problems with this? Or nothing to worry about?

@TonyM, can u please make few more closeups of seatpost and handlebar/stem combo, since the pics are lower resolution, and i cant pick up the details. Specialy im interested in clouseup from side where i can see transition from tops to hoods, and seatpost close up to see how seatpost color match the frame...

And could u please tell me about the colour of Deda Decals on handlebar/stem/seatpost? Are they white, or dark gray? Asking this to find out if they match Deda Zero 100 Stem BlackOnBlack color version which im planing to use

@moonoi, please few clouseups of stem/handlebar if its possible ? :)

Thanks a lot for both of u

Why don't you try WR Compositi? Much more interesting than boring Deda and they make some very lightweight products. Their alpha bars are under 160g.

I find the bars do flex slightly, but only during a full out sprint, but it doesn't feel dangerous or anything, a guy my size sprinting will flex almost anything ;-)

I'll take some more pics when I get home this evening

I appreciate it :) BTW, on setup i ride now, there is not noticable flex during sprints. But there is scary flex going downhill 60 km/h and when side wind happened. This feel terrible :) (i can feel big amount of flex, and also this compromise my control in that moment), so hope in new combo will avoid this (still did not discover if this is because of stem Fizik Cyrano R1, or Handlebar (Zipp Service Course SL80), or both :)

Absolutely solid on downhill for me, hitting 70-75kmh completely planted. Originally I was going to get the Superzero stem because I was worried about flex, but no one had the length I needed in stock, so went with this and it's been fine.

Be aware that the Deda supperlegerra are black matt (not gloss!), so for the seatpost it may be important for you in terms of esthetics.
The Deda color on the handelbar and stem are grey. No decal. and of course the italian flag color underneath

Thanks TonyM. Now i have better idea how it will look. And thanks about warning for matt color, seem that i prefer Colnago seatpost as better match to the frame beeing gloss. I remeasured again, and it's 209 gm actual weight, so seem no big weight saving here (only 19 gm, if actual weight of Deda seatpost is 190 gm).

And Very nice look on handlebar/stem combo with ur bike.I like it. Do not change it :)

Moonoi, nice pictures and thanks a lot for doing this for me. Very sofisticated polished black on black color scheme..

Both color scheme looking very nice, and seem that personal preference should decide which one :)

Thanks again to both of u

In meanwhile, there was a huge discount on Easton EC90SLX3 handlebar on chainreactioncycles, and also i got some vouchers so i ordered one in 44 cm size (44cm in drops i hipe, 42.5 cm in hoods). The price i got is 96 eur without tax and customs, about 130 eur including everything. I decide to order this reading that is very good match to campy shifters, stiff enough and 190 gm (hope to save 70 gm ). So decided to test it for a while. In meanwhile friend of mine have a spare Deda Superleggera stem in my size that is willing to give me for a test. If i like it, i'll probably order Deda SuperLeggera Handlebar/Stem combo (for me is best looking, even beeing maybe boring), so i'll switch between Easton and Deda handlebars in the future.

Next item for ordering: Pedals

You can probably cut a bit off your Colnago seatpost to save weight. I know mine is way too long.

I have a Superleggero stem on my C59. I bought it for aesthetic reasons plus the 8 degree slope matches the slightly sloping top tube of a Colnago pretty well. I didn't like the way my bike looked with a 6 degree slope stem. The only downside to the Superleggero IMO is cost and that stupid split clamp on the front. It works fine but makes install more annoying.

Ok, i just got a call from DHL, that my new handlebar is arrived. As soon as i have it, i'll post some pics with actual weight.

I can see that there is possible shaving some weight if i replace my Colnago Original Skewers (if i go to KCNC or Tune more then 70 gm).

So can u suggest me some light skewers that actually works?

Im asking this, because friend of mine replaced his Campagnolo skewers for some TUNE (not remember which model), and on climbs they was not tight enough, so he get back at the end to the original Campagnolo.

I'll replace my skewers only if lighter version work enough, and are safe enough.
