Hi there.. Yesterday while exchaning brake pads, the Brake Shoe Retainer Spring was a bit deformed, and while trying to remove the brake pad, this spring braked.

Since the force of braking push the brake pads in front direction (opposite of removing direction), will be safe to ride without this Retained spring until i received spares?

Its part number BR-SR001 ... part_B.pdf

On my Camy bike, I removed those from start, to make pad change more easy, and never, ever had any issue with that.

Only an issue if you squeeze brakes whilst wheeling bike backwards.....

These springs are a PITA........ Shimano screws suck solution is the EE cyclworks using little nubs in the pad holder with Shimano pads.

I found that out the hard way, I was riding my tandem with my son and when I backed up, I dragged the brake. When I went to stop a bit later, there was no brake pad.
