TRP r979 eq ?? Will they clear 27mm wide rims?

So I'm trying to install my TRP R979 eq
They are supposed to fit up to a 27mm wide some say 30mm.. mt rims are the boyd 44mn 27mm wide, but there isn't enough space unless I'm not installing them correctly. There is maybe 0.5mm space but the brakes touch the rim.

You'll need thinner brake pads.

yup seems like the only solution, i put some older half used breaks and now its all good i guess. but i wish i didnt have too. :( ;)
