Degrading? Because I'm not willing to pay for stuff that's marked up through multiple levels of distribution etc.?

How can a canyon aero bar be marked up through 'multiple levels of distribution' when the whole business concept of Canyon is to work consumer direct?

Isn't it funny that when some one posted a topic in here asking: chinese handlebars, yes or no? the majority said no!!!!! not even with a barge pole. Right now we have a topic that promotes them.

I'd rather keep my teeth and health and spend some more money to buy at a brand then getting the factory seconds.

Yep, this thread is very much relevant to "Chinese handle bar YES/NO" that got no where. I find it rather amusing when every one of you is aware that cycling is an expensive sport, yet you find the solution to cut cost as much as possible. Sadly this sport is degrading.

It's not all sports you know, some are just fans to the sport and buys stuff that their cycling heroes probably use but at an affordable price.. it's not always about performance but also about others things like looks, in some cases it is good enough to be in a relax ride with friends.
There various reason why each person went into cycling, could anything but it's not only about sports.
Be considerate, those who do it for sports knows that they have to buy sure stuff.. but for some it could be Chinese parts because its what they want and really harming the sports in any way. Canyon alone destroyed the traditional cycling business but that's another topic.. Cheers!!

PS.. made my own garmin mount.. saved 45$ if I buy it in eBay

Frankie-I was making reference to the bar I initially posted, which was $600 when Specialized originally marketed, and then abandoned, it.

Any pics from the side to see how the bar angle looks like with the rest of the bike?

Thanks.

It doesn't have to be though, you can win races on a 500$ bike. What we're doing here is way beyond useful :)

Can't speak for the others but I am following this post to see what one of the rare light combos look like (and apparently what is their weak point and if fixable).

Again, I'm not against Chinese products. I'm against anything that comes from random sellers on eBay and random sources (e.g., http://www.dhgate.com, http://www.aliexpress.com, http://www.ebay.com, http://www.madeinchina.com, http://www.alibaba.com). We are talking about over 30 million products in a wide range of categories including Apparel & Accessories, Computers & Networking, Consumer Electronics, Toys & Hobbies, Health & Beauty, Bags & Jewelry, Home, Auto, and more. You really think they focus on passing QA for your handlebar? If you are going to take a chance and least get it from a reputable source (same factory) like http://farsports.com, http://www.lightbicycle.com, http://www.yoeleobike.com, http://www.yishunbike.com, http://www.carbonspeedcycle.com, etc.

I was actually thinking about a used 10 year old road bike. A friend of mine has an old Trek for training, but he's won races on it when his race bike was in the shop.

I appreciate posts like this. Solid, sensible advice.
Many, many thanks.
