Thanks TonyM! according to the chart, the head tube height on 47 and 51.5 are the same at 125, 5mm longer than the 50. So, if I didn't want to go very low the 47, this would help + a 120mm stem. This will only create a more sloping top tube compared to the 50. I'm just curious and want to know your thoughts on the 25mm shorter seat tube on 47 vs the 50, would it create any handling/stability effect on the bike?
No, the all stability of the seat tube/ seat post will not be affected and the handling should be almost comparable.
Which angle do you have for the stem?
Are going to slam your stem?
BTW are you looking for a F10 or F10 disk?

When buying small sized frames one needs to look at the toe-overlap. Or does no one care about this anymore? Usually smaller sized frames use a fork with a greater fork offset (>50mm) and use a slacker head tube angle to bring the steering response back to normal. I'm not sure if the F8 will account for this. If you have big feet and/or have the cleats very far back then toe-overlap will be a big issue.

Why do you worry about overlap? Just be aware when completing a tight u turn so you won’t damage your shoe.

My 47cm - Just part built up to check my seat/bar set up as pictured (frame/uncut fork/seatpost weight too)
FYI - I'm 5'7" with 29.5" inseam
My dims, as set up and pictured-
Saddle tip to stem clamp centre (110mm stem) = 51cm
Centre of BB to top of saddle in straight line up seattube = 67.5cm
Additionally -
1. Vittoria Graphene 25c's on 24.2mm wide Boras are a slightly tight fit but definitely work OK so happy with that.
2. With my Campag, the later Chorus calipers allow good room under the tyres as they are a more open design than the Record/S Record...that don't quite provide the clearance I'm looking for (Campag! Please update this )

This thread has been helpful. Thanks for sharing pics and details, roadhog44. Here's the set up I had on my bike, considering the geometry on 47, 50 and 51.5 - will I fit best on 47 or 51.5? Since the 50 seems like have a shorter stack and head tube(which is strange, the 47 has these both longer), I would have to add spacers under the stem. What would also give a better appearance from the "look" department?
Height = 5'6.5"
Inseam = 31"
Saddle tip to stem clap center = 51.9cm
Centre of BB to top of saddle in straight line up seattube + 70.8cm
Drop = -8.2cm
Saddle(fore-aft/angle) = -4.8cm
Thank you all!

In addition-on a 47 frame, would ENVE SES 4.5 rear-25.5mm wide, front-27mm wide on 25c tires?

Thank you in advance!

It will work if that’s what you are asking. I’m on enves 4.5 ses but have returned back down to 23mm.

My 47 f8

My old magnesium 50.5 and new 47 . Can get the same position of 71 seat height although with most bars I can’t get as low at the front. I am getting on a bit so will see if I can live with it or I will get a new bar and stem

This is quite an interesting thread and clearly illustrates why height is such a poor indicator of fit. We have 5'9" on a 47 (and assuming great fit), while 5'9" on a 55 with a 130m stem (and perfect fit). You also have 5'6" on a 51 and a few others...

I do love how the 47's look, so mean and compact.

Hey fello WW people. It’s been a while for me but bad news for my 47cm Wiggins as she took damage from a crash during a race. Unbelievably the damage was not from the crash but was from the handlebar. Gonna be replaced with another F10 but this time in 50cm. Also, now I’m looking into possible picking up the new Disc Cervelo S5 in the near future. I’ll keep you guys posted.
