Hi, recently I bought a Colnago C-RS and found out there is a small hole defect on the frame, near the headtube.

Should I wrote to Colnago and perhaps get an exchange?

Update: Colnago acknowledged the defect and will issue an exchange. Great service from Colnago

I'm genuinely surprised that frame made it past QC.

Why surprised? Mistakes happen, things slip through. How it's dealt with is what you measure them by.

If it had been caught, would they have just patched it over and still sold the frame?

It looks like a tiny void in the carbon. I don't think that is going to cause a frame failure.

I agree, it appears to be a tiny pinhead size gap where the resin has not filled out properly - technically a manufacturing blemish but on the face of it nothing more than a cosmetic defect which could be repaired with skilled DIY or via a spray painter with quality touch up paint.

It's an ugly hole, on a new frame. I'd want it replaced as well.

I'd ask for $1000 and keep the frame :D

IMHO a C60 would never have such an issue.

I would not keep it. Ask for a replacement.
To me it seems that is what you want since you posted this issue here?

On full painted frames, they use filler material to cover up such things.

Not a minor defect IMO -- no way I would settle for that. Have it replaced.

Glad it's being replaced.

Is it the pic or is the finish of frame (not including the hole) a little it ropey?

I've seen some pretty poor fit and finish on a few C60's.
