The Deda Zero 100, Superleggera, and Presa all share a very similar bend (RHM... I think that's Deda's abbreviation for "Rapid Hand Movement"). The Deda Zero100 SHALLOW is quite different, much more of a classic shape with a ramp downwards for placement of the levers (especially Campy) in the traditional type placement which allows for easy reach to the levers, even when in the drops. The ironic thing about Deda calling these SHALLOW is that they have a 135mm drop, deeper than any of the other bars I quoted above. I find the RHM bend favors a more flat (on top) transition to the levers, a shallower drop, but more difficult to reach the levers from the drops unless you're right up there in the hooks. Again, comes down to personal preference. I had the Presa's when they came out and could never get used to them. I didn't like the "squashed" part of the tops of the bars because you had to have them in exactly one place otherwise the edge was always bothering my palms. I like round top bars for that reason... you can tilt them exactly how you like and the grip on top is always the same.

Deda Zero100 SHALLOW from the side.... tips of Campy levers level with a line horizontal along the straight line edge of the flat drops. That's the other thing I really like about these bars... a flat straight area on the drops versus a constant curve to the very end....

Do u know what is actual weight of ur Deda Zero 100 Shallow? And will be nice if everyone here explain what they like on their handlebar, and what they dont like.

Let me do it my self. I went to this Zipp SL-80, because before that i was using MOST Jaguar (alloy), so that was the most similar shape and lightest in same time (at least based on specification).

What i like about Zipp SL-80:

- Match my Fizik Cyrano R1 Stem in graphic
- Have some flex, so it's comfortable. Before i thought that is very flexy on downhills, but seem that i had to retight the headset :) (still will prefer a bit stiffer)
- Long drops so plenty of position in drops
- Round tops (i hate aero, or not round)
- Flared drops with small angle (44 cm in drops c-c, 42 in hoods c-c)
- Non internal routing (i like the external one)
- marks for levers

What i dont like:

- A bit flexy (nothing serious)
- I start with position of Campy levers matched horizontal with the drops, but after a while i realized that i need to put them a bit higher
- i had a bump on transition from rubber part of the lever to the handlebar, and this was very uncofmortable for me. Fixed with putting some tape under that part and to make it less bumpy.
I guess this is maybe part of not so good putting of handlebar tape
-i'll prefer a bit lighter :)
- Black stripes graphics not centered, and they scratch easely

Im torn to order:

Fizik Cyrano Bull R3 (im curious if i can go with a bit longer stem compared to my Zipp).

What i like:

- Seem a bit stiffer compared to Zipp, which can be good or bad thing :)
- Better match to my Stem :)
- The same position in Ligher Carbon versions, so i can test this first, and then go for more expensive
- Lighter 5 gms compared to my Zipp (because the drops are shorter, so actually this seem to be heavier if they had the same drops lenght)
- Different shapes, so based on one, u can realize which one u need

What i dont like:

- Shorter drops.

Another Handlebar that i want to test are Deda Zero 100 (i also wonder if i can switch to a bit longer stem compared to my Zipp if i go this shape), Deda Zero 100 SHallow (both in alloy version first)

Ritchey Superlogic Evo Curve is another handlebar interesting to me.

What i like:

- Stifness and weight (this is based just on reading, did not have a chance to see in flesh)

What i dont like:

- i dont like that is dont have the levers marks, and also dont like the shape on tops (maybe i will like if i try first).

^Deda call them Shallow because they mimic the old "Italian" 135 mm drop. They also have a Deep:

^ Yes, I realize that, but it does make things confusing when all their other bars (not labeled as SHALLOW in big capital letters), are more shallow than this one and in today's world 135mm is not shallow at all. Funny, I have a set of the "Deep" bars in your pic as well. They seem SO big now. They are sitting around collecting dust, as is so much stuff in my garage. Love it.

Haha, I have a Cinelli Giro d'Italia 38 cm collecting dust. I guess it's for the singlespeed I'll never get my ass around to build. Must say your bike is rather pretty with those Shallows on, and the placement of the comandi are spot on.

Yeah, that's definitely one weird bike. Looks fun though. Bar shape looks good too, it's a shame they're so hard to come by. I've only ever seen them on Amazon in 38 cm width.

Exactly the flat straight area in the hoods are the thing I´m after.

I know Fizik Snake has the same (and a niceier bend) but they will not fit
- To big drop for a small frame
- The stem is -7
- The seatpost are 25 mm setback.

I had my eyes on Fizik for a while but I have almost made up my mind on
Superleggera seatpost
Zero100 Stem 120
Zero100 Shallow bar

To go with 48S Colnago C60.

Thanks for the pictures!

Does anyone ride a Easrton EC90 SLX3 with Campy Levers?

There is a discount on chainreactioncycles.com, and seem that is nice shape and nice bar and also very lightweight (193gm in 42 c-c) and to be honest start thinking vs Fizik Cyrano Bull R1

I like the Zipp service course sl-80 myself very much. I love the long drop section which gives me plenty of space to move around.
On my current bike I have to go down 0.5cm in reach, which I can't do with a stem, does anyone know a bar that has 75mm reach and a similar shape as the zipp sl-80? the specialized expert compact looks to fit the bill..
But I could be wrong

I also use Zipp Sl-80 and really like the long drop section. The only problem i have, which i can not solve is transition in the hoods. I have a small bump there, which make me uncomfortable after some riding. Im using it with Campagnolo, and to me look like maybe its not perfect match each other. Do u have the same bump? And what groupset do u use?

I also have ur question, and probably will try Deda Zero 100 next

p.s if u like to shorten the reach, maybe to put ur saddle a bit forward, and to compensate that raising in same time few mm?

Lovely bars those, really can't beat the classic shape and I'm considering going back; wish Deda did a Superlegerra Shallow. I use the Deda Newton shallow on one bike and have been experimenting with the Deda SuperZero and Superlegerra bars on others. I just can't get comfortable and it seems impossible to get the levers in the right position with the bottom of the lever in line with the bottom of the bar. The levers do not move up high enough increasing the reach. You can't "force" them in due to the radius at the top and the cabling channels (I could not use them i suppose) and also the Campy ergos are not kind to carbon bars.

I use both campagnolo (2015 chorus) and shimano levers (2 different bikes).

I don't have a big bump on the campa levers, I did however mount the levers a bit higher on the bar so they point upward very slightly. This position works well for me and the transition is smooth to the hoods.
But I could be wrong
