Make a 1.5mm ring from plastic and glue it to the bottom of the head tube to close the gap.

DON'T sand the forks.

ok I've thinked about sanding down (with a 800/1000 sand paper) because I've imagined the section of carbon deep enough like in the drawing in the middle but may be it's like in the third drawing, so at the moment I don't do nothing and I'll give the fork a try, even with that 2mm gap, according that gap there's on many 2016 hm framesets, like showed on the previous pics.

I agree, try to source a plastic or alu ring to fill the gap. Keep us posted if you find a good solution. I'm on a 2015 supersix and would be interested in shaving 50g on the fork.

I wouldn't think all that work and possible danger would be worth the reduction of half to one millimeter. AS others have said, maybe you could focus more on a dust shield of sorts to fabricate instead of trying to move the fork more inward. To be honest, they don't look that much different than the other pics provided, and I don't think my 2014 EVO has much less of a gap either.

Also, if you going only on cosmetics, the fork already looks a little ridiculous if you are leaving it as is, so I don't think the 1mm gap will be noticeable.

Does anyone else have any other info on whether the 2016 forks will work in the 2014 frame? I couldn't believe my EVO fork was over 400g with the crown race. I suspected it would be nearly 100g lighter than that!

If it's over 400g it's a non Hi-mod fork

I guess I was under the impression that all of the forks were lightweight and hi-mod. I guess it is another place to upgrade!

Have you ridden the fork yet? Does it feel safe on your 2014 frame? If you strip the paint that fork is lighter than the THM CT.

Atm still not ridden because I felt sick on the prev days, I'll do that most likely next we.
I'm not going to strip it (because it still matches with my frame) but stripping for sure would remove at least 20 grams.

I actually think the new fork looks pretty cool.
Personally I'd ride with the 2mm gap for a while and see how it went.
Like the other guys say a 1mm thick black plastic or Perspex sheet cut to size and sanded carefully could do the job nicely.

Fork just installed, it matches so good with my frame, I have to say actually the gap is not so noticeable, I'll test it tomorrow..

Nothing, it was just an idea at first then, looking at all those pics of 2016 Supersix framesets, I've discovered it's just normal

Fork tested today: first impressions are good, riding on cobbles and rough stone pavers was lighty more comfortable than usual so that claimed +21% of compliance is actually perceivable, stiffness on climbs good as well and last but not least no issue with the "famous" gap :)

Thanks for the update. Does anyone know if the Cannondale Evo Himod forks have different sizes? For example, can a take off from say a 54 cm frame work on a 50 cm, ect? I see one on EBay but it looks like it is coming off a 56 cm frame. I want to throw it on a 48 cm size.
