Colnago tweeted this video earlier today. Details to follow in early Feb. Question is, does anyone in the WW community have he inside scoop?!

I haven't heard anything about it other than your post, but I think it's probably a pretty safe bet to assume it's a limited edition C60 to celebrate Ernesto's 85th birthday on February 9th.

Almost certainly it will be a birthday bike... Ottanta translates to "eighty" in English

Aren't the Ottanta bikes usually gold and black? If so, the c60 line already had a limited edition gold and black model so I wonder what could be really different this time around.

Pretty much just the paint, and like @showdown says, Ottanta simply means 80 in Italian. So the Ottanta5... 85. Probably not too much different functionally except for whatever paint scheme they come up. No idea what colour it will be.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the same but hoped for more. I have seen only one Ottanta C59 on the road a few years ago at Marmotte and it was stunning. I wonder how they'll make it different from the other limited edition good and black c60!

^Maybe EC will make it special with a little help from Campagnolo, like a SR EPS group with "gold" Ottanta5 logos?

I'm wondering if it will still be lugged carbon or as noted above just a paint job on a C60. time will tell.

The font they chose reminded me immediately of the DeRosa Cinquanta marketing a few years ago... just sayin' :|

Ok, I'm going to say it. Those gold and black Ottanta frames are ugly. They'd have to give me a massive discount to take one so I could have it stripped and repainted.

Now I'd love to see the Ottanta 5 come out with a drool-worthy paint job.

Judging by the crowd and atmosphere.. sounds like he's about to release a new hip replacement machine.
