my god i get it. campy is HONEST about their published weight!!!

or by wife’s logic, it would be equally dishonest to understate the figure as overstating.

Got it, weighed it. Seems alright given the high gloss paint job.

What size? Also has anyone posted fork weights. Curious what the system weight difference is versus a SL5.

It's a 56cm, all 3 that I have posted the weights of have been 56cm. The fork was 10g heavier than the UL fork I posted the weight of earlier. about 340g uncut. 798 for an UL, 924 for an expert with the matte black paint and 817 for an S-works with glossy paint.

Thanks much, didn't realize the Expert was painted and not just clearcoated carbon with logos. Now I have to decide if ~100g is worth the extra money since either way I'll be getting the rest of the build from parts I have.

shows the UL coat was a lot of marketing nonsense - only 19g lighter but £300 more expensive

I think what it comes down to is luck more than anything. We've clearly got a 'light' frame in the silver painted one, and the UL we had was one of the weightier ones. Specialized admit they are both the same frame just with different finishes. So what I'd really like to see is how light a plain black regular sworks frame is. Although given the minor weight differences we're talking about here and that I'm just using a kitchen scale they should all be weighed on the same day at the same time to remove and discrepancies, preferably using a verified scale that hangs rather than with a plate.

The reason for using a scale you can hang the frame from rather than a pan scale is that it is easier to make sure the load is equal on the sensor. When using a pan scale as most people on WW do, the sensor will usually be in the middle or slightly off to one side, meaning that if you don't load the scale perfectly evenly it is easy to get variations in the weight of a single item. I could get the Silver frame I weighed today to weigh less by deliberately loading the weight of the frame away from the sensor, or more my deliberately loading the sensor over to one side. I think that's why old fruit and veg scales you got in shops were always hanging scales, so it was harder to trick the gauge into thinking there is less in the scale that there was.
