Yeah, that's the seat post. Although Specialized don't claim a weight other than "below 800g" which is on their website. The rest of the weights are all from journalist's articles.

nope - the spesh website made those claims - there was a whole section on how they hand selected the lightest frames and gave them a 10g paint job (the weight of 9 gummy bears) and it was 733g for a 56. They've pulled most of that but it still says 733g on:

Weight

"A 733g frame weight and 13.6lb complete bike weight (Ultralight Version, size 56cm) should say everything you need to know. As mentioned above, this ultra-low weight comes from the ability to co-optimise each of the Tarmac’s performance targets, so that reducing weight doesn’t negatively affect the frames handling or aerodynamic performance."

There's a rear brake outer cable included in that 797g, no idea what that would weigh but it would bring the frame closer to 733g without it.

the below 800g isn't size specific - so that means the 61cm should be below 800g also.

I strongly suspect that as production ramped up they realised that the 733g was unrealistic so quietly removed it from the website. They just missed the one surviving reference to it on the product info page. A bit sneaky but there's not a lot anyone can do.

Annoying to me because if I'd have known it was overweight before I ordered then I'd have taken the hit and bought the sagan colour as the weight penalty isn't huge. Serves me right for believing specialized :(

what would the gram difference be between a 54c frame and 56c frame?

I think it would be minimal - essentially just an extra few cm of carbon tube x3 - 20/30g possibly

If you're not happy, return it. I'm quite confidant there will be either a re-issue of the Sagan paint scheme or an updated version for his 3rd world championship. Why stick with it if you're not entirely happy (at this price point).

Totally valid - but I’ve has mine on pre order for months. Since it was first announced. Plus a big pile of components, power meter and some Enve wheels sitting there waiting for the frame. So you can understand it would be annoying to have to wait for a new version to be announced.

Looks like specialised basically did a “bait and switch” which is a bit crappy

Cable housing can weigh more than you think. It was 40g lighter for me to go to eTAP from Red mech because it eliminated the shift cable, and housing on my ViAS. Normally Red mech is lighter, but the cable/housing weight made the difference.

Nope, that only a flimsy plastic liner to help guiding the brake cable. This really weights nothing!

That's ridiculous. You should get a refund and just go for the standard frameset.
