BSA BB recommendations
Moderator: robbosmans
Working on a new build, and I need a BSA bottom bracket. I'll be using my current Rotor 3D crank with a P2M, and am thinking the majority of components will be DA 9100. I've been on Campagnolo for a long time, but feel like trying something different.
Is my best bet to go with the Shimano BB, or am I better off with an aftermarket unit... Kogel, C-Bear, RWC/Enduro, Chris King... ???
Curious what experiences folks are having. Thanks!!

DA unless you want some ceramic bearing bling.
Wow, I didn't realize just how cheap the DA-9100 BB is! Does it really compare to some of these others? I'd be overjoyed to save the $$ and put it elsewhere on the bike.

i use shimano. they work great and there's no reason to chose dura ace over ultegra here. you'll not feel or see a difference.

Been using the BB-9000 for a while and no issues at all. It is very light due to smaller cups and bearings. Seal drag however does not seem any better than previous 7900/7800 iterations (even though Shimano claim lower drag).
I have actually taken the seals off and relubed with oil.

R&D has been paid for years ago. You can't go wrong here and paying more will not get you better performance.
