KMC Missing Links

1/ I am interested in why there is a Shimano/SRAM/KMC 10 speed connector and also a Campagnolo 10 speed connector, as both are 5.9mm.

2/ How come in the case of 11 speed there is just one type of 5.5mm Missing Link that fits all 11 speed chains.
