Hi all - my first post on this forum - seems to have some pretty interesting stuff - I'll be reading regularly I think.
My winter project is to build some lightweight (ish) wheels for my lightest bike. A few particulars ...
Me: - 6ft tall, 220lbs (not the smallest)
My bike: - Tomac Montezuma (not the lightest but it is my lightweight ride)
Usage: to be ridden mainly on the road / lanes
Wheel spec I have in mind:
FRONT:
- Novatec 771 hub (6 bolt disc and 100 x 12mm)
- rim H Plus Son Archetype
- probably 28 hole with 3 crosses
REAR:
- Novatec 772 hub (6 bolt disc and 142 x 12mm)
- rim H Plus Son Archetype
- probably 32 hole with 3 crosses
I have tried the Novatec hubs and they seem pretty ok for the price bracket, and it seems anything better is very expensive.
I have also tried the H Plus Son Archetype and like them but there seems to be quite competition in this price range and I fancy trying something else.
Any alternatives / recommendations?
