So, I stepped into my office today to do some last-minute work before leaving town, and glanced at the Parlee. Something struck me as odd:

That was a Tune Cappy made out of 7075 Alu and painted by Parlee. It must have snapped on my last ride and some small amount of gravity finally killed it. Weird, eh?

Wow, you have an entire, dedicated desk, stand and wall socket for your bike, in your office.

That is a very good point.

Thats a way to put a positive spin on it.
Sure you don't have any kids or roommates that need to be in trouble?

Well, the agreement was that we build an in-law apartment for my mother-in-law and an "office" for me. The office is part bike shrine / part home office. The picture of the Parlee makes is perhaps seem more significant than it really is:

I meant someone broke it and is acting like they don't know what happened.

Definitely this.

Also... carpet under the area you train on...

Ah. I'm the only one that goes in the office. Truly. It's *extremely* unlikely that someone broke it.

There's now a mat under the trainer bike. That was shot before I started using it in anger.

Must have snapped on your last ride and just barely holding in place when you put it away. Amazing you didn't notice on the ride

I'm amazed it held on until tension popped it.

Here is what happened;

Someone knocked the bike off the table. It tipped over, and landed on the seat first, at an angle. This put a load of force through the (badly designed) bolt area, which snapped it.

Whoever knocked it off the table then put it back on the table, and is keeping quiet about their crime.
