I'll start. I've come to conclusion that carbon clinchers are just a big scam perpetrated by the industry.

First, any product that you can overheat, fail, and make you crash under normal use should be considered defective. If a car performed that way, it would be recalled and you'd get your money back.

Second, $1500 to $3000 for a wheelset. It's just crazy money for wheels.

Third, the gains are way over stated at high yaw angles that don't apply to 90% of normal riding. When you compare a deep aero clincher to a 32mm aero aluminum wheel, the gains are really small.

Fourth, only riders at the highest levels of competition need the edge of a small number of seconds. And if you are on that level, you are on tubulars anyway.

Why not use a more descriptive thread title?
