I've searched the forum and the Chinese TIME Xpresso pedals are often recommended for a build on a budget.

I'm currently using the Ultegra pedals (260g) with yellow cleats (90g) but I'm looking at cheap ways to lose grams. The Costelo are advertised at 155-160g and the cleats 54g. It's a ~135g gain for approximately $75 US.

Anyone here bought the pedals and weighted them? Are they solid enough to last 10-15k km?

Yes. 165g. They are solid but have same issues as any other xpresso 12. Search xpresso here, there's a 35 page thread.

I skimmed through the topic but didn't realize the topic covered the Chinese copies as well...I'll look at it more closely then.

Leaving this here in case someone search for Costelo (eBay seller hk_fen3)

Last ten pages or so. Both the times and Costello have sharp edges, bushings rather than bearings outboard ( both fixable) and carbon leaves that can fail. But no other pedal near the price engages as easily floats well and is that light.
The Chinese cleats also don' have the mirror image that adjusts q if you care.

Your picture has "Made in France" or "Made in Franca" molded into the plastic pedal. But your post is about Chinese made pedals?

Because they would never lie about country of origin on a counterfit type product?

Or they took a pair of real Time pedals and popped a Costelo sticker on the spring for the photo op.

They also took the Time commercial blurb and did a search and replace of the word time :)
Engagement time now is engagement Costelo.

I think it's safe to assume these men are not rocket scientists.

Don't forget to add another approx 33g for the bolts and washers for the cleats.

Supporting the Chinese by purchasing counterfeit goods is just plain wrong. Buy some REAL Expresso 6 models and be done with it.

I'd rather have some legit Time Xpresso 4s that weight 30 grams more. Actually I have some 8s, 6es, and 4s and the 4s perform just as well as the 8s.

I'd also rather have a Time steel axle than risk a crash with a counterfeit ti axle.

The 4s are 224g so I'd rather keep my Ultegra.

FWIW, several sites, including pbk, now have the genuine article for around $145. Makes for a more difficult decision than when they were 255...

I am looking at the 10s. Are they 12s with cromoly axle?

Could you get titanium axles and shave 30g on 10s?
( 250 $ Canadian for xpresso 10 at my lbs where have you seen 10 and 12 at 100-150?)
