Has anyone had any experience with bikes with the Focus RAT axle system, and using them with a Tacx Neo?
I saw a suggestion on Twitter by Meredith Miller (CX racer), that a Kinetic Traxle can be used with a Wahoo Kickr: https://twitter.com/rainingktula/status ... 9485930496
Any suggestions are very welcome

Except that Tacx has a disclaimor posted near the bottom of the support article Does my 142x12mm axle fit on my trainer indicating that the adaptor kit is not compatible with Focus' RAT system.

I only have experience with the kickr. The adaptor kit consisted of a new end cap that made the spacing 142mm, a little metal washer to screw on the drive side to make the thing that slides into the drop out a larger diameter circle, a piece that fits into the 12mm frame hole with a QR sized hole, and a longer quick release. Then for the RAT, I put the bike on the trainer, and then slid the quick release with the 12mm hole filler into the bike, which luckily fits right through the space in the RAT, threaded the other quick release side on w/o the spring, and then tightened down. Hopefully that helps. Not sure on the end cap situation of the Neo.

Thanks a lot. A friend of mine has a Neo, so I'll try to check it out before I receive mine.
It's a shame, because otherwise the RAT system has been trouble free.

It looks like I accidentally started two topics with similar titles. But yes, it works fine. Pictures here: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/foru ... 4&t=142803

Hi ... re "threaded the other quick release side on w/o the spring, and then thightened down" does not damage the RAT end cap?
Thanks.

I wouldn’t say so. I’ve done this many many times now, and I actually store my bike attached to the Neo this way.
No issues for me whatsoever.
