I have a question about using direct mount brakes on a bike like a Trek Emonda or Canyon aeroad (bikes where the rear direct mount brake is on the seatstays)
Is the rear brake an actual "rear brake" or do you use a front brake and switch the pads around?
Seems like the under chainstay rear Shimano brake would not work well on the seatstays?

Different brakes. "xx10" denotes direct mount, and then F for front, RS for seatstay, R for chainstay.

So, BR-5810-RS

And BR-5810-R

For instance.

The Aeroad uses a two fronts, ie the rear brake is a front.
