Hi all,

On the cervelo site, the R2 is claimed to have the same frame as the R3. Does anyone know more info on this? Is it a case of the same moulds but different Carbon layups/quality?

It seems crazy that the R2 in a full build with 105 retails at £1500 in the UK with a Cervelo R3 frameset at £2000?!

Thanks
Ross

No, according to Cervelo it is the same frame. Quite a different fork though, and pretty horrible colourways - but a brilliant frame for the money!

The white is fantastic in person. It's a shame they have completely moved away from it.

That's right: same frame at the R3, but the R2 has the "Mud Fork" with clearance for larger tires -- possibly 28s.

Just for reference, I just built a 54 R5.

Uncut fork was 291 gms

Frame with seatpost collar, bottle cage bolts, no headset bearing, no bottom bracket was 848 gms.
