RD-R8000-GS vs RD-R8000-SS

Geometry is different, not just cage length

Hi all. Apologies if this has already been covered somewhere here, but I simply do not have the time to go through all 25 pages of this post.

I am looking to get an 8050 rear derailleur and fit it to my bike that currently has full 6870 transmission.

My question is, will it be a case of plug and play, or will I have to do some kind of updating using the e-tube software? I am hoping I can avoid the e-tube as my tablet and phone are very dated and are generally incompatible with newer apps.

If it makes any difference, I fitted the groupset myself and it has worked since fitting without using e-tube, so has not been customised or changed in any way.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

In principle would be Plug and Play, If it is necessary to update........e-tube with PC and battery charger

Not exactly what you're looking for, but r2-bike.com shows the actual weight of the 11-25T at 223 grams (232 grams claimed) and the 11-32T at 281 grams (292 grams claimed).
