I'm sure that was supposed to happen with the new DA and eTap HRD, but here we are.

LOL! Ultegra posing in front of a 18 year old whisky! And is that a duty free bag too?

Well I guess if you're going to leak a pre-release product, might as well do it in style.

Looking good if real. Prospective Ultegra buyers will be dead pleased with that. I would anyway. Chunky crank arm goes better with aero bikes especially.

This looks so much like the new Dura Ace - I like!

well... that crankset looks "interesting"
the spider and the sloping logo are kinda ugly.

if that is the final product I think I'll rather go with the new DA

If this is lighter than DA7900 I'll be all over it.

Calnago wrote:I really don't like the added piece, basically an extension of the current rear derailleur hanger on road bikes. They call it direct mount, but that really only applies if you're directly mounting it to a thru axle or however those mountain bikers do things nowadays. :). Someone tried explaining to me in another thread how adding that extension onto the existing hanger doesn't cause any extra leverage at that point, but I still didn't really understand the theory.

Touching back on this, I agree with Calnago. I don't see how this doesn't put even more torque on the RD hanger requiring almost annual service with the alignment tool (not that I don't love using it).

Does the new mech hanger not put any extra load as it's still the same vertical distance away from the axle?

That's exactly what Shimano want to hear!

Nope. They want me to buy Di2 which I won't.

I wanted Dura Ace anyway only I wasn't too crazy about the new "fading" color and was hoping the new Ultegra to have a more traditional finish, but in that picture it looks like an old MTB crank..
