Lightweight owners: which other wheelset do you ride?

Hi,

I start with me:

On my main/ summer bike (I now have only one summer bike, a C60, and a winter/ rain bike, a Colnago Dream) I have a set of Lightweight Meilenstein clincher Schwarz (CeramicSpeed bearings).


Actually I planed -but eventually discard it - to buy a set of Campagnolo Bora Ultra 50 (or 35) in the bright label version because of the look of the bright labels of Campagnolo but I figured out that the performance would not be as good as with the Lightweight.


Only for the mountains and for safety reasons I use a different wheelset, a Fulcrum aluminum Racing Zero Nite.

What about you guys?
Do you use only your Lightweight wheelset or do you use also other wheelsets?
And why?

Lightweight Meilensteins in France where my average speeds are higher, and Corima MCC S+ in Majorca, where much of my riding is climbing.

2 sets of lightweights. Tried others but nothing feels anywhere near as good/nice.

Lightweights mainly on my C60 and Bora Ultra 50's (Bright) on my Canyon Ultimate Aluminium, both sets are tubs. Thinking of buying a pair of Bora 50 One's (Dark), clinchers.

On my Urgestalt Lightweight clinchers or Obie Schwarz, winter bike profile design with Ali brake track.

can't choose other than LW std 3 for racing right now but will use hyperon for commuting. bora 50 and bora 80 ultra are both in the mix as well.

Mavic Ksyrium SLR for wet weather - better braking
Enve 4.5 SES for windy days and flat riding - better aero

As someone who think to upgrade Shamals Ultra to Bora One 35 Tubulars, im interested if u can compare the performance diferences u can feel between Shamals and Bora One Tubs.. Also i ride a lot of mountains, and sometimes long distance riding alone out of my country, so also thinking should i stick with clinchers or move on tubulars...The Shamals i ride in this moment, i ride with Latex Tubes (Vittoria), and Vittoria Corsa G+ Tires (and very sastisfied from the ride, reliability...). Im interested just in performance differences, i would not upgrade just for look

Do the majority of you also swap out the brake pads when changing wheels?

I think that tubes ride fantastic, if you mount some good tires. I can recommend Veloflex or Vittoria. Clinchers are easier when having a flat. I would not recommend using tubes all the time. When the weather is bad, the risks on having a flat tire are bigger so clinchers are more convenient then. When I ride tubes I always bring a spare tube with me. A can of latex doesn't always work.
My shamals are clinchers so I cannot say anything about shamal tube wheels. Both Shamal's and Bora's ride very very good.

When I change my wheelset I change brakepads too when I move over from carbon to alu wheels. When I ride my Meilenstein wheels I change brakepads to the Special L:ightweight brake pads.
On my carbon wheels I use campa brakepads or the Reynolds cryo blue pads.
