Anyone with a 2010/2011 Cannondale SuperSix have success running wider 23mm rims? Fair clearance at chainstays and brakes?

If so, are you limited to 23mm tires?

I used to have a 2011 SuperSix 105 and ran Velocity A23 wheels on it (32 spoke F & R) with Conti GP4000S 23mm tyres. You certainly wouldn't want to get a 23mm rim which was wider than 23 at any point (as many of the aero rims are today)...

Clearance was pretty tight at the BB area and also through the fork from memory. I certainly got a bit of frame rub from time to time under sprint which progressively took off paint. Brake clearance was ok - plenty of adjustability.

I have a 2011 super six and I can run flo 30 wheels with no issues. Conti gp4000 23 mm tires also ok. Think I read somewhere that says conti 23 is closer to 25 mm in actual width.

I'm running Pacenti SL23 rims with Pro 4 25 mm tires on my 2010 Supersix.

These frames have short chainstays and the clearance limit is from the tire to the FD clamp. About 1 mm in my case.

You can use any rim up to 25 mm with this frameset. What actually matters is a real tire width when mounted and pumped and it should be noted that wider rim = wider tire. In the front I woudn't go with tire wider than 25 mm and in the rear max is 28 mm (real width).

PS> I'm currently using 25 mm wide, carbon clincher rims with Shwalbe Pro One 23c (25mm when mounted).

Just wanted to follow up — I mounted 25mm Rubino Pros to 20.5mm (15mm internal) rims, and had about 1mm clearance at the shoulder of the tires at the front fork. Looks like a recipe for serious fork rub from road debris. There is already fork underside rub from 23mm tires + debris.

Just to add, this is on a 54. I have a feeling there is more clearance overall with larger frame sizes. I don't think a 23mm rim + 23mm tire would offer enough clearance at the fork.

Rear tire clearance was ok to a 6800 fd clamp. Thanks again guys.

are you sure? I have plenty of clearance with 24mm (25mm measured) vittoria diamantes on 15mm rims.. (09 model)

I ride a Supersix 2011 54cm with Fulcrum Quattro LG's (23mm outer,17mm inner rim) with Vittoria Rubino Pro 25c. They measures 26mm at 90 psi and both front and rear fit fine.

I dont think 28c would fit but have not tried.

24mm outer clinchers with Schwalbe one 25mm (measure 27.75mm) tubeless is a definite no.
22mm clinchers with Vittoria Corsa Evo 23mm (measure 25mm) tubeless is fine.
