Recently purchased for a project (I will post on that separately).
Advertised as 151.6g on ebay. Actual weight on my scales 164g. This is for a 400mm seatpost so still pretty light for that length and not very expensive.

I removed 8.5cm resulting in a loss of 23g. This was a conservative "checking the fit" cut. So 2.7g per cm (for this sample of 1) for those interested in the potential savings.

Second cut has removed another 6g so total weight now 135g for 293mm.
Not done a lot of kms so far so no review as such. Seems pretty sturdy is all I can say so far.

Thanks for the review & weight!

Is there a specific vendor on eBay that sells Hylix?

The cradle looks different from my Hylix seatpost. @Rudi, can you weight it and measure distance between rail recesses? I had a problem fitting chinese romin-like saddle, the cradle was too narrow and I've snapped rails off the shell.

@djel I bought from liukang1985, have bout a couple of other things from them as well. Very happy with their service.

@Klaster1 it is on a bike at the moment, I can take it off and weigh separately but not right now. Is your carbon or metal? There is another version of the same post advertised at 176g. I think the only difference is that cradle. I've had no issue size wise with this and tried 2 different saddles.

I'm not sure these are the same parts
Untitled.jpg

Mine appears straight between the two sides (in red) where yours has some shaping.
Looks like you can still see the mold imprint on mine where as yours seems smoother there (in green).
Most compelling is the area in white. Mine is a small section of clamp where as yours appears to be open all the way to the other side.
edit - also just noticed the size of the holes in the centre are quite different as well.

Did you get it from the same vendor and when? I bought this maybe 2 months ago.

Not sure that helps you at all though.

Mine's from lan28033, seatposts listed in his store have cradles different from your's indeed. What's even more strange is that all liukang1985 seatpost listings show my type of cradle. Your cradle is being sold by him as a J&L product. I think it was replaced for some reason.

I bought a hylix stem from liukang1985 and I had a problem with threads stripping even at the correct torque.
He did however respond to every email quickly and send me a replacement stem.
As far as eBay sellers who sell weight weenie style products go I'd definitely use him. A very honest seller.

Bought the 27.2 400mm for a mountain bike and cracked it at the seat collar on the second ride.

Are the clamps on this particular Hylix post safe for use with typical 7x9 carbon rails?
