So the only criterions for this new bike are:

- exclusivity
- high bling bling factor

Noone bothers about fit, geo, handling, purpose of the bike, riding style, personal preferences, etc etc

Those things are a given in this case. He's an experienced rider and looking for something "special". So yes, the intangibles and personal taste matters at this point. It's not hard to understand or appreciate. It's his 50th! And it's his party. Don't spoil it.

TS said he wanted something special, that's all. This is basically a dream bike thread, let it stay this way. Most bikes have sizes to fit most people anyway, unless you want super aggressive geometries etc.

I would be considering Bastion Cycles out of Melbourne, with the lower AUD at the moment you might be able to swing a visit to pick it up. They can tune the frame characteristics to what you are looking for and give you an engineering report once the frame is built giving all the stiffness and flex stats.

They are also doing custom colour inlays and other paint options as well.

Didn't you know that BRM fills the unconstructive grumpy replier slot that every forum has ? :D

and he's the finest to lecture a 50 years old rider and his short-list.

Just check his posts/replies. :beerchug:

I normally ride Italian, but really open to any suggestions. a couple of frames which could possibly be on my short list is a Sarto Lampo custom , Colnago C60, Legend 11.5 or a Parlee Z Zero. Any suggestions would be much appreciated...thanks in advance :-)

If you are ready to buy bike based on complete stranger suggestion, here is my:

Italian wheel chair and oxygen holder, plus PED prescription to be on the safe side, sorry for being a D$%* but if you don't have your dream bike in mind you kinda asked for it.

Aargh, that Cherubim looks horrible. Sorry. It could sit easily in the Freaks topic.
Just an opinion.

Agree with @Miller on the Cherubim. In ten years time you'd be looking at that saying to yourself "What the hell was I thinking".

What the heck? The cherbiums and Bastions are eww.

Personally I'd get a Festka, Condor or Firefly xcr frame. Any modern carbon stuff is gonna look like an old trans am in five years.
