Charged by the ounce?
- More expensive because it is handmade in Italy and not in China.
- Heavier because it is much more durable than the Cannondale or the Canyon. Thicker tubes, lugs, ribs, bb sleave etc. add to the weight as well.
I had the similar dilemma, and also considered Canyon Ultimate SLX based on the weight, specially that i really like the climbing.
I alsmot missed the C60 because i read how it's heavier then others, and also i was not sure how stiff is it for climbing. Also wanted to buy Bianchi Specialissima or Pinarello dogma F8, based on weight and climbing performances...Until.. I didnt have to try C60, Bianchi Oltre XR2, Specialized Tarmac and Dogma F8.
I realized that C60 is stiffer and better climbing machine then Dogma F8 or Oltre Xr2, and also quality is much much better then those..In same time offer woderfull ride, very comfortable but racing feeling.. I cant describe this way
, but it's magic ride.. The whole finish of C60 is much better quality then all other i had chance to check and ride in personal.
About weight.. At the end i realized that is not that heavier as i thought as first..
The real weights of C60 in 50S:
1. Frame
This weight is with included headset bearings, Campagnolo Ultra Torque cups installed and seatpost clamp.
Also consider the positive thing of how C60 Bottom bracket is made and future proof because of this compared with frames with pressing cups directly to Carbon Frame.
And compare the real weight of Superlight Frames (which post their weight without bearings, without seatpost clamp, without paint...)
2. Fork UnCutted
3. Fork Cutted
So the real weight difference would be max 250-300 gm but loosing the super ride of C60, Quality (yes, it's really better made its not just the Italian Marketing (like Pinarello Dogma F8 for example) if u go with others. Perfect paint is just extra that make me like to watch the bike even i dont ride it.
I guess if u go with C60 with more Carbon colour and not Art Decor it would be a bit lighter.
Another thing that was very important to me.. Because C60 have a lot of sizes u can pick the perfect size that match ur body proportion, and the others u consider have less sizes so it can be a compromise sometimes piciking ur perfect size (which include huge amount of spacers or maybe very non proportional stem length)
This bike just making me to want to ride it.. Since 07 August when i assemble it, until yesterday i rode 1500 km with tight schedule and not so nice weather this period..
Of course this is just my experience and opinion
