24h, 2x rearwheel, how to x spokes?

I've broken spokes twice in two years on my rear wheel. I don't know if this is common. But I'd like to find out, if I've done it right. Which is the right way to cross spokes with 2x an a 24h rear with 12 on each side? Do spokes touch each other on the second cross or not?

generally with crossed spokes you have them touching but done the other way wont lead to broken spokes. spoke break because of fatigue, either the wheel is not stiff enough for the rider in which case up the bracing angles, spoke gauge, spoke count, elbow diameter or rim stiffness. Maybe up more than one. Spoke tension might also be too low and the stress releiving might not have been done well enough. what wheel have you got?

CK R45 hub, DT Aerolite spokes, and Farsports 50 mm deep, 25 mm wide U shaped rim. These wheels are my racing wheels, and I almost only use them for racing. They've done around 5.000 km's the past 2,5 years. There are countless accelerations in the races, that I do. So they get a lot of 0-800/1000 watts in a few seconds. Is it unusual with two broken spokes during that time of use?

This time it was a left/NDS spoke.

I have similar wheels on miche hubs. Done 14000km on them no drama's. I am over 80 kg and they see 800w sprints alot. Something wrong with your build like tension variation, bad stress relieving or low tension.

take em too a wheel builder who uses a tension meter... the only reason to break NDS spokes is low tension.. sounds like a bit of a crap build..

Thanks. I'll find someone else than my LBS mechanic to do the last bit of tensioning and truing then.
