Shape is identical to my generic eBay carbon saddle. Are those rails carbon?

The shape is that of a Selle San Marco Aspide

Rails are titanium.

Burglar, got a link to the eBay saddle you're talking about? How reliable are they?

Definitely the outer shape of the Aspide but the Aapide has a cut out and there seems to be no raw carbon option.

I identify that as a painful saddle.

A good chamois and you'd be surprised how comfortable it is.

I got this one in matte 3k weave. I echo what you say above, it's a surprisingly comfortable saddle despite how it looks. As for the reliability, personally I've found it to be a great saddle, others will no doubt scare you off 'open mould' saddles but this is my first one and can only comment on my experience, which so far has been great.

most of my saddles have minimal padding...like the Fizik Arione 00. i would imagine that if these saddles with no padding fit well, it shouldn't be any issues. like others have said...a good chamois and you should be just as comfortable.
