I would like to know the reasoning for Shimano not adding sprint shifter ports on one either the Di2 9170 or 9180 hydraulic shifters.

Because discs are for commuters, not sprinters.

Then why do many of the pro CX racers have sprint switches on the bars of cross bikes? Sprint shifters are also good for wives/girl friends/significant others with short fingers, which allows them to shift without need of removing hands from the drops.

I like that the marketing department state that the pro's asked whether they could have a wheelset optimised to 30mm tyres, and yet it is being released as disc only, which is banned in UCI road races.

Off to Eurobike today (trade days). I will post what I see. I am not going for a browse though. I am going to meet a few people as I have ideas that I want to bring to fruition.
