This is a marketing ploy, right? Outrageous price for what are basically hingeless sunglasses to get attention?

Glasses is about the lens, not hinges, strap and silicone nose. You can pick up a pair of Oakley with Road PRIZM lens for $170. If you riding your bike without PRIZM lens - you are missing out big time!

Hugs? Well pressure from glasses is also about weight and at 26 grams these are not any lighter than a set of Adidas LST glasses, which have arguably better lenses for a 10th the price. Nike is not dumb, they will get some suckers to buy this model but it is marketing pure. Wired just cut and pasted a Nike press release and calls it news.

The Czech high jumper, Michaela Hrubá is wearing them today in Rio. They look alright for $46.15 per gram. How does that compare to some of the other light weight stuff we buy?

Easy to mock but I found this to ring true,

"When you have that strap around your head you know it’s not going to fall off your face, no matter what..."

I actually leave my shades at home quite often because I have a hang up about them bumping off. They're so light that since getting them I never felt confident in them staying on.

Maybe I should get a strap for them too (Oakley EV Zero Range FWIW)

Sounds to me like your glasses are too wide for your head. I'm still wearing old Flak Jacket (original version) because they're narrow. I never worry about them coming off during normal riding (they have on 2 occasions, both times when my head hit tarmac).

Re the Nikes - Haven't both Assos and Specialized done non-folding ultra light wire framed glasses at some point? If I can think of 2 examples it's hardly new. Good looking though (I'm not going to mention the price...).

Wait, none of you care about the lens?! Nike claim level of comfort over lens?! You can buy comfortable pair of glasses from gas station for $10. Go try on Oakley PRIZM lens for heavens sake.
